We're proud to announce another MEPEACE Chat Workshop, this time following up on our very productive two previous workshops on the topic 'Promoting women's approaches to peacebuilding', held two and four weeks ago, respectively.
The third and last workshop of this highly relevant series is scheduled to be held this upcoming Sunday, 07 August, at 20.00 Jerusalem time, in our chatroom, and will be called 'Practical steps to ensure women's participation'.
As this title implies, we are going to focus on what actually needs to be done in this regard, and how we can do it?
Not only in the Middle East, but virtually everywhere in the world, it appears that women's voices are often not being heard when it comes to peacebuilding and reconciliation processes. While we pretend to have left the dark ages of male dominance behind for good, there is a still a long way to go until we attain full equality between men and women, especially in the field of (international) politics.
Women might contribute to peacebuilding and reconciliation in different, often more constructive and holistic ways than men. But even where there's an acceptable level of women's participation, the overarching structures are often dominated by men.
This is the reason why it is important to discuss how - especially in the field of peacebuilding - women's participation can actively be promoted and enhanced. In this workshop, both male and female voices - from Israel, Palestine and all over the world - are very welcome.
The leading questions for this workshop are:
What practical steps need to be taken online (on mepeace.org, Facebook or other platforms/networks)?
What practical steps are necessary on the ground, especially with regard to building a more efficient civil society?
What communities can we build to make change happen?

Please note that the event will start on Sunday, 07 August at 20.00 Jerusalem time, in the MEPEACE Chat.
If you have any questions regarding the event, please don't hesitate to contact us at dialogue@mepeace.org.
We are looking forward to your participation!
