We're proud to invite you all to our third and last workshop in our current series on 'Interfaith Peacebuilding'.
After introducing the concept of Interfaith Peacebuilding in the first workshop, and analyzing the Interfaith cooperation potentials within the Abrahamic faith traditions two weeks ago, we would now like to conclude the series with a closer look at 'Interfaith Peacebuilding in the Middle East'.
All three great Abrahamic faiths are present in the region we care about - too often maybe, though, our respective religions are said to bring insurmountable obstacles to peacebuilding. Too often we fail to see what Jews, Christians and Muslims have in common - we regard religion as a burden for peacemaking and not as a useful tool. Let's concentrate on existing and prospective efforts at religious peacemaking in the Middle East, by highlighting initiatives that work and visions that appear on the horizon.
As last time, Interfaith practitioners from any faith are more than welcome to share their experience with the workshop participants.
If you are a practitioner and interested in introducing your initiative, organization or vision to the audience, please let us know beforehand, so we can organize and structure the workshop properly. We thank you in advance!
Our leading questions for this workshop are:
How can we apply the general potentials of Interfaith Peacebuilding to the Middle East conflict context?
What existing Interfaith Peacebuilding initiatives/projects are there in Israel and Palestine and how can their actual work be depicted?
How can we, as peacemakers in mepeace.org, promote and support Interfaith Peacebuilding initiatives more efficiently?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please note that the event will start on Sunday, 17 October at 20.00 Jerusalem time, in the MEPEACE Chat.
If you have any questions regarding the event, please don't hesitate to contact us at mepeace.dialogue@gmail.com.
We look forward to your participation!
