Hello, Shalom, Salaam Peacemakers!

mepeace.org is proud to invite you to our 19th Online Peace Talks live event - and the first one in 2011 - due to be held next Sunday. For all those who haven't yet joined any of our past Online Peace Talks: As it is one of the most important aims of mepeace.org to work on extended dialogue on site, we have launched the Online Peace Talks to establish an open space to talk mutually about peace, about possibilities, worries, concerns, obstacles, achievements and our mutual future in a hopefully peaceful environment.

The event will take place on Sunday, 09 January, at 20.00 Jerusalem time in our chatroom.

Dialogue is an important means for conflict resolution, and this is exactly what we aim at. Dialogue will help us find common ground and exchange honestly about what we really feel. The Online Peace Talks should work as an effective equivalent to the established 'on-the-ground' Peace Talks, hosted monthly by Eyal in Yafo. Using the Internet and the mepeace.org platform will allow even broader participation - as our friends in Gaza and the many peacemakers in the diaspora, to name just two examples, can't take part in Yafo.

The Online Peace Talks are - in short - an integrative, barrier-less event. The event will be open and without a strict schedule, nevertheless there will be some moderation in order to safeguard ethical behaviour and 'netiquette'.

For these upcoming Online Peace Talks and for the ones to follow we are looking for moderators. Moderating this event is appropriate for everyone wishing to bring both peacemakers and topics together and safeguarding ethical behaviour in our live communication. We are proud of our previous moderators Rachel, Manal, Waleed, Arie, Ohad and Tanya, who did a fantastic job. They (and all others) are invited to moderate (with our support) this event. If you are interested, please send an email to mepeace.dialogue@gmail.com.

We seek to establish Peace Talks in an active online environment as a new tool, as a new method of conflict resolution/conflict transformation. Besides, we would like you all to take part in discussions around the future of our community - mepeace.org!

Take the chance to be part of it! We're looking forward to your active participation (and/or moderation). If you have any questions or issues beforehand, please contact us at mepeace.dialogue@gmail.com.
