Hello, Shalom, Salaam Peacemakers!
MEPEACE.org is working on extended dialogue on site and hence decided to launch a new regular event - Online Peace Talks. Some of you have already attended one or more of our successful Chat Workshops, which take place every other Sunday in the MEPEACE.org Chatroom. The Online Peace Talks will also be held every other Sunday in the Chatroom - it is a very different kind of event, however. Other than the Chat Workshops, the Online Peace Talks don't focus on a specific (academic) topic, but establish an open space to talk mutually about peace, about possibilities, worries, concerns, obstacles, achievements and our mutual future in a hopefully peaceful environment.
After three successful Online Peace Talks we are now proud to invite you to our fourth event, due to take place on Sunday, June 06, at 20.00 Jerusalem time in the MEPEACE Chatroom.
Dialogue is an important means for conflict resolution, and this is exactly what we aim at. Dialogue will help us find common ground and exchange honestly about what we really feel. The Online Peace Talks should work as an effective equivalent to the established 'on-the-ground' Peace Talks, hosted monthly by Eyal in Jaffa. Using the Internet and the MEPEACE.org platform will allow even broader participation - as our friends in Gaza and the many peacemakers in the diaspora, to name just two examples, can't take part in Jaffa.
The Online Peace Talks are - in short - an integrative, barrier-less event. The event will be open and without a strict schedule, nevertheless there will be some moderation in order to safeguard ethical behaviour and 'netiquette'.
For this upcoming Online Peace Talks and for the ones to follow we are looking for moderators. Moderating this event is a great opportunity for everyone wishing to bring both peacemakers and topics together and safeguarding ethical behaviour in our live communication. We are proud of our previous moderators Manal, Waleed, Arie, and Ohad who did a fantastic job. They (and all others) are invited to moderate (with our support) this event. If you are interested, please send an email to mepeace.dialogue@gmail.com
We seek to establish Peace Talks in an active online environment as a new tool, as a new method of conflict resolution/conflict transformation. Besides, we would like you all to take part in discussions around the future of our community - mepeace.org!
Don't miss the chance to be part of it! We're looking forward to your active participation (and/or moderation). If you have any questions or issues beforehand, please contact us at mepeace.dialogue@gmail.com.
