PLEASE NOTE CLOCKS MOVED BACK ONE HOUR IN ISRAEL (SO THE CALL IS ONE HOUR SOONER)

Hello, Shalom, Salaam Peacemakers!

First of all, Shana Tova to all our Jewish friends, and Happy Eid al-Fitr to all our Muslim friends.

MEPEACE.org is proud to invite you to our 11th Online Peace Talks event due to be held next Sunday. For all who haven't yet joined any of our past Online Peace Talks: As it is one of the most important aims of MEPEACE.org to work on extended dialogue on site, we have launched the Online Peace Talks to establish an open space to talk mutually about peace, about possibilities, worries, concerns, obstacles, achievements and our mutual future in a hopefully peaceful environment.

The event will take place on Sunday, 12 September, at 20.00 Jerusalem time in the MEPEACE Chatroom.

Dialogue is an important means for conflict resolution, and this is exactly what we aim at. Dialogue will help us find common ground and exchange honestly about what we really feel. The Online Peace Talks should work as an effective equivalent to the established 'on-the-ground' Peace Talks, hosted monthly by Eyal in Jaffa. Using the Internet and the MEPEACE.org platform will allow even broader participation - as our friends in Gaza and the many peacemakers in the diaspora, to name just two examples, can't take part in Jaffa.

The Online Peace Talks are - in short - an integrative, barrier-less event. The event will be open and without a strict schedule, nevertheless there will be some moderation in order to safeguard ethical behaviour and 'netiquette'.

For this upcoming Online Peace Talks and for the ones to follow we are looking for moderators. Moderating this event is a great opportunity for everyone wishing to bring both peacemakers and topics together and safeguarding ethical behaviour in our live communication. We are proud of our previous moderators Manal, Waleed, Arie, Ohad and Tanya, who did a fantastic job. They (and all others) are invited to moderate (with our support) this event. If you are interested, please send an email to mepeace.dialogue@gmail.com

We seek to establish Peace Talks in an active online environment as a new tool, as a new method of conflict resolution/conflict transformation. Besides, we would like you all to take part in discussions around the future of our community - mepeace.org!

Don't miss the chance to be part of it! We're looking forward to your active participation (and/or moderation). If you have any questions or issues beforehand, please contact us at mepeace.dialogue@gmail.com.

Please mind the current time change in Israel/Palestine and carefully check the local time in Jerusalem:

See you all tonight!

Even if this round of peace talks gets stalled or postponed there is one thing that would make it all worthwhile and that is for the Israel Prime Minister to publically state that Jews do not have a birthright to the West Bank.
