I'd like to invite those of you between the ages of 21 to 31 (plus minus) to apply to a new encounters program offered by the international conflict transformation organization, Search for Common Ground. It starts this February and will combine open dialogue about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict with field trips in Israel and the Palestinian territories, leadership training and negotiation workshops, and a professional internship scheme. The program is offered with the support of the Unites States Government.
More specifically, the program will involve leadership training workshops and dialogue groups in Jericho, joint visits to Ramallah and Tel Aviv and then participants will be invited to choose one of two tracks. Either 1. The the negotiation unit track which offers three one-day training workshops focusing on interest-based negotiation strategies. Or 2. An internship training track where participants will volunteer for 200 hours over a five month period in an organization that interests them from "the other side", i.e. Palestinians will be interning in Israeli, Palestinian and Israeli or international organizations and vice-versa.
The internship track is much more demanding time-wise and is recommended for those who have the time to devote to it.
If you're interested in applying for the program, please fill in a short application form (attached) or if you want to learn more about it first you can message me here or send me an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
We're on a rather tight schedule so if you are interested let me know asap!
