Hi, I am not a drummer either (although I am a singer guitarist) yet I do know of a very good drummer in the UK who plays both bodhrain and darabukka - as well as using my back as a drum at one point while we both danced together to some Persian music LOL! I also know of other drummers in Kent, UK.

 

Anyways, apart from not being a drummer myself, I have joined your group as I do have some ideas which I would like to put forward. The main one is making the drumming event an international one. I would also like to see it have teeth and be more than drummers getting together to drum for peace but to use it to really promote global unity and the fact that ALL of us have the same needs, for shelter and sustenance. I know my Kent UK friends would certainly wish to hold a drumming event and I am sure others I know around the globe would also wish to take part. It would be great to be able to hand out flyers with a Global Unity message on them. It would also be a good opportunity to let people know about groups such as mepeace.org, Heart Bus temporarily on facebook, Zeitgeist Movement, and other groups (many of which consist of people who have realized the politicians are not acting in the best interests of humanity, so they are acting themselves instead and moving forward with better ideas of how to live in unity) which are springing up like crazy at the moment.

So... what do you think?

If you can keep a beat, you are a drummer in my eyes. That sounds awesome! I'd be up for it if I were closer by.. Couple of ideas to get you started:
1. Set up a facebook group and invite all your friends
2. Put up a notice at local music shops and classifieds for musicians websites
3. Tell people about it

Let me clarify first: I am not a drummer however can keep a beat. I would like to organize a drumming for peace event on International Peace Day on the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia USA. Do you have any suggestions to doing this?
There is an American Indian community close by and thought about asking them to participate.....
