Dear all,

we are 39 now! Amazing!
I see that this topic is almost not covered formally nor in Palestinian civil society.
Sure we can not compare the efforts Israel is doing to bring Jews to Israel and PA's (if there is any).. On the other side there is big potential for self-organizing efforts.

As a measure to support the purpose to return to build Palestine, I was thinking about creating a site "Building Palestine Movement" with your help and support.
Lets us discuss what should this site contain.. we can cross-check with existing Israeli site in relation to same semantics.

We can look for partners who would support ans sponger such a purpose. We do the service and set-up the site.
Am not sure about the formal guide-lines for this.

Together we can write a statement of mission and purpose and send to potential supporter ..

lets discuss the issue.

Thanks
Wael

we can learn from that and sort things out: We Palestinian should not be our own racists or occupier and must believe in equity and democratic freedom. We have to provide our Vision and own model of social-communal living structure.
I will never divide people into categories, but try to create new chances and practical alternative so that people have more choice. Actually this manner has caused me lot of trouble as each Pal group or most of Pal want you to be on their side, otherwise you are with the other side, while I am trying to create something could work for all .. but this is different story.

Tamar, we have to design channels for positive Energy as Jay said. The site I am proposing is an important start and signal. A foundation by formal and Palestinian civic forces in PA area and in the diaspora should hold such an initiative.
I thing the target now to get mainly Palestinians to put down a draft for project proposal and present it to the different actors. I know it is very much hard to build than get trapped in wishful-trance ~
And from my experience aboard I can tell you, this will exist more in PA areas than aboard. For example in Europe, Pals have what they need. Security, social- and life need insurance, ..
There is no trends of noticing Pals being involved in high-political initiatives , political or scientist consulting or beeing in parliaments, as most of them have citizenships aboard.
>the cool thing, if we manage to create the site, Pals aboard will be connected to initiatives taking place on the ground .. we can then see "Free Global Palestine" as emerging giving entity ~
HI Wael and everyone i was thinking to have something for Palestinian people something teach us how to make our nation, what does it feel of peace ? what is that feeling which we don't have it even Israelian don't know what does peace mean? how could we asked people who never know peace to be in the peace? we should work in this first , well Wael i don't know where u live but i think their is lots of people even who are member in Mepeace they do have angry inside them against Israel and the opposite also well in my opinion i would love to be with a group from outside teach us how to life with peace what does it mean is it mean no occupation or no angry even though we see our children, parents, all people killed and at the end we will lei at our self f and say yes we want peace to whom they said that" do u know what is the feeling of peace is? how u ask for peace and u don't know the feeling of it?
other thing i would love to help of building anything for a Palestinian nation because i'm part of this nation and help to experience what does peace mean in real ad how is the feeling
Great idea......for several reasons. Especially as this can give people a channel into which to send their creative energy....and who now feel mostly frustrated. This would also dispel the myth that there is no one out there really trying to create a positive model for a Palestinian state.
in short, I think we have to create new realities that make transformation process in reality possible and old realities obsolete. Claiming the rights alone is not enough. And to be honest people get trapped into it without acting progressive critical-thinking on themselves. the evidence is the Palestinian political reality.
If we want to build the Palestinian self-determined nation we have to learn to develop constructive internal relationship without to make the relationship to Israel/Israeli conditional! Till now this has not been considered in the past.

I can tell you the Palestinian in WestBank and Gaza has stronger relationship to Israeli than the Palestinians uprooted and fragmented since 4 Generations around the world. Why to neglect these sensitive key-taboos? And how can PA negotiate agreements about refugee they do not have relationship to the other side?

Basically the whole humanity must change the basic of commons to "function of relationship" and stop generalization, then we will see a bottom up new development in our relations as humans.
Conventional politician used to work contra this function, just to win more relationship to them as "leaders" in time we all can be heroes.
I believe that one huge obstacle to positive movement towards reconciliation between Israeli Jews and Palestinians is......that much of both groups cling to their respective victimhood. Neither group has successfully moved through this psychological phase which is necessary to healing one's own internalized oppression. Even the Israelis....with their military and economic mastery.....still have a basic position of 'believing' internally that they are oppressed. Of course, this is not to say that Israelis do not suffer from real attacks.....and Palestinians from the oppression of the IDF, settlers, etc.....but this issue is hidden and much deeper than we usually explore within ourselves. I believe that.....if peace and justice were to be created tomorrow......both groups would have difficulty in defining themselves by something other than the conflict. Perhaps both groups would simply find some other turmoil to replace the conflict or.....even worse....they may re-create the conflict. Wael is correct in that we need new realities and models. We also must ignore the prodding of other nations....US, Iran, Syria, etc....to continue to remain in conflict......which serves some of their basic interests. The rest of the world has never really had much love for either Jews or Arabs.....and they often stir the pot to keep us off balance.

We each need to search within to expel this archaic oppression which was created generations ago....and impedes our creative forward movement toward reconciliation.
Jay,
to prefer identifying with existing holding reality is not only in human conflict domain !
Check: Creating new habits in consciousness and culture

it is often that we are tracked by things we used to and heritage, which are comfortable to follow or stay within, because we know very well ... Emergence and transformation requires smashing new walls internally, which is a revolutionary act against the real enemy which is the SLEF ~
.........precisely......!
NAFIZA...........very good thoughts!
i suggest exploring systems of conflict resolution which come from outside sources....and are operated by people not involved in the conflict. I am trained in a system called AVP...Alternatives to Violence Project. It was create by the Quakers and developed to reduce violence in prisons. It is a very effective way for people to EXPERIENCE the learning of ways to resolve conflicts.
Great Jay dear i 'm living between students in open University in Jerusalem which they Representative most of the ages. this univ. is a unique univ. because all the ages and level their when i speak about peace or Israel the first problem i face is Normalization they don't want it because they don't have space to realize what peace we are asking for is Justice and they are very disappointed from the governments (Israeli and Palestinian) both well most of the students welling to cooperate with any other people but not Israeli, u see what i mean about to have experts or to go outside to know more about peace first
Not only is AVP effective......as I can attest.....but leaders will likely come from neither Jew nor Palestinian. Therefore, they will not have any natural reactions to the statements which enflame us when we speak with the 'other'. I will explore how AVP leaders might begin to reach out to American Palestinians and Jews....but ultimately may be able to bring AVP to Israel/Palestine. I am not aware of any AVP activity there....but there might already be some practitioners in the region.
'We all' want peace....but at what cost?....and will that peace really accommodate the needs of the 'other'?

So explain to us how your views are anything but pipedreams given that Hamas and Fatah absolutely oppose one another except in their common view that Israel must be destroyed although the tactics used by each are different.  And, as such, how is a terrorist organization (Hamas) going to suddenly change and become part of a united Palestine.  Other than that, there appears to be no universal common myth which draws the Arabic people of this region together other than the falsehood of the Nakbah and a hatred of Israel and everything Jewish.  Is this enough for a region made up of huge families and clans which constantly quarrelÉ  Your views seem to come from some dreamworld.  Please clarify.  I would appreciate some realistic comments.

Firstly, some correction of untrue statements:  Fatah has proclaimed and demonstrated that they do not advocate that 'Israel must be destroyed'.  The Palestinians universally consider the creation of Israel to be a 'Nakbah', so to call it a 'falsehood' is inaccurate.  When you mention the 'huge families and clans'......do you include the huge families and clans of the ultra-religious Jews in Israel/Palestine?  Most philosophers believe that to achieve something.........one must first dream.  That is what we peacemakers do.
