mepeace.org is a network for peace and a platform for peacemakers. With your help we can:

1. Exemplify and realize peace and co-existence online and on the ground
2. Empower individuals and organizations with interaction, information and inspiration
3. Leverage the web and networking technologies to mobilize a movement for Middle East peace

We are now transforming mepeace.org. As it stands, few shoulder the responsibilities for mepeace.org. This transformation will empower volunteers to build teams and lead a movement for Middle East peace. Our proposed leadership structure:

See and download the full details at: http://www.mepeace.org/forum/topics/transformation-of-mepeace.

How it will work – MEPEACE will support leaders and teams in four areas of responsibility (circles): Interact, Inform, Inspire, Sustain – each with five teams and corresponding leaders. Teams encourage cooperation, share the work and accomplish more. Teams exemplify co-existence, offer experience and empower leaders from the bottom-up. This team model will encourage motivated peacemakers to take and share responsibilities.

Communication – it is vitally important for us to communicate clearly and consistently with each other

Team leaders – each will build team of 4-5 individuals to advance work with weekly communication
Steering Committee - made of Team Leaders. The SC will make decisions by monthly communication
The WIP - consists of Circle Leaders representing the world, Israel and Palestine - will communicate weekly and create an agenda for the Steering Committee
The board and international board will be engaged to support the WIP and Steering Committee. The boards will be updated monthly and meet quarterly
Community – peacemakers will receive a monthly update in addition to twice-weekly communication

MEPEACE is looking for talented volunteers. Do you have an interest in joining us? Email your contact details to our volunteer coordinator, Oliver Haack, at volunteer@mepeace.org. In your email, tell us how you want to help, how many hours a week you can volunteer, and what you need from us.

We meet on Sundays at 21:30 Israel/Palestine time to support our volunteers at mepeace.org/chat. Please join us.

Thank you, Shells,

I believe quite a few of the youth groups I've mentioned are already on Mepeace. And I agree, Mepeace is indeed a good place to invite them to communicate/contribute, however I've made but one or two contacts with the NGO founders.

So far, my main work concentrated on selecting, creating pages and grouping them on wiserearth.org which takes a great deal of my time. If, and, or when I'll contact them I shall most certainly forward your invitation.

All the best

With love

Narda

Dear Eihab
Thank you, and Staghfar Allah, God forbid, this is not at all my intention! This was an additional post to a list I've posted here about 2 weeks ago in response to Shell's request to know whether there were any youth groups in communication.

The list of groups were taken from lists I've been working on on WiserEarth.org. Have a look at the full list collected so far

I am really learning as I go... so if you know of any 67 Palestinian or Israeli NGO's which aren't included - in any area of focus - please do let me know...

Narda, I think you focus on 48's Arabs only?
Comment by Narda Azaria Dalgleish on October 25, 2009 at 2:06pm
Ah, forgot to mention that Israeli and Palestinian students started it together as a school in 1983 !!!
This is what they said on their old website:

Re'ut-Sadaka works with over 500 Jewish and Arab youth annually and reaches thousands more by speaking in Jewish and Arab high schools across the country. Since its establishment, more than 7,000 high school students have participated in youth groups, seminars, workshops and field trips, and more than 30,000 have attended lectures about the values of tolerance, understanding and the ways in which they can contribute to the shaping of a new social and political reality of coexistence.

Dear Shells
If you're still interested, I've forgotten about these people, Sadaka-Reut - this is their new website

target="_blank">http://en.reutsadaka.org/?page_id=872

This is what they say

Since 2000…

• 40 young adults have graduated from the only Arab-Jewish leadership training program – an intensive year of joint living/work/enrichment/training

• Over 1,000 youth have participated in the framework of our ‘groups’ project

• Since the beginning of the Towards a Common Future project (tolerance education workshops within schools) in 2004, we have worked with over 3,000 students in 15 Arab and Jewish high schools

• In 2006, we established a youth community center in the city of Jaffa – the ‘Markaz’

• We have initiated and implemented over 6 nationwide summer youth campaigns
