In many ways women have been under represented in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.  Only a handful have been slightly noticed.  Bat Shalom is a non-government organization of both Israeli and Palestinian women organized together for peace initiatives.  In the elected government of Israel, Tzipi Livni is no longer head of the Kadima party.  For long time it was rumored that she would be the second woman prime minister, after Golda Meir.  But it seems now, that she is a thing of the past.  Hanan Ashrawi is also a thing of the past in the Palestinian Authority.  So women are not currently in the situation of being runners up.  It is still a non-government organization phenomenon, that still needs to reach the overall population.  But 49% of the Palestinian population are women.  In Israel, it is 50.7%.  So women on both sides have their work cut out for them to be noticed and listened.

Glad to find this group.

I definitely believe in women's ability to do for peace in different ways than  men do. The main thing is (generally said)   women thinks of people - husbands, children, family   in first place, while men think of politics/power/money before seeing the humane dilemma.

" Palestinian and Israeli women tell us... " by Peace X Peace

What is courage? Palestinian and Israeli women tell us what it means to them.

What is the relationship between peace and religion? Hear what they have to say.

Peace X Peace - this is a place to connect, communicate, and advocate for women as the most direct and powerful way to create cultures of peace.
