Thousands of peacemakers inspire peace today. Here we shine a light on ten extraordinary individuals and five organizations


Dedication - Len and Libby Traubman
Len and Libby have partnered for peace, co-existence and dignity of the other for many years. Together they pioneered the Jewish-Palestinian Living Room Dialogue and been actively dedicated to MEPEACE.

Organization - Çiğdem Yilmazer, Narine Melikyan, Basil Keilani
These individuals is recognizes for being selfless contributors to our organization:
Çiğdem Yilmazer - Tireless as contributor to the MEPEACE Dialogue Team
Narine Melikyan - Talented peace photographer and video producer
Basil Keilani - Integral part of the MEPEACE Moderation Team

Inspiration - Uri Avnery
Writer, activist, former Knesset member and founder of the Gush Shalom peace movement who inspires through his writing and presence. Avnery continues to voice what is possible for Middle East peace.

Leadership - Salam Fayad
Speaks truth to power as he leads the Palestinian people to build their institutions and state. “Fayyad rolls up sleeves to build Palestinian state” has attracted more 150 responses on

Contribution - Yehuda Schwartz
A Israeli leader who contributed the a bold concept, the Israel-Palestine Federation ( The "three states for two peoples in one land-solution” inspires what is possible.

Promise - Hamze Awawde and Inbal Cohen
Hamze Awawde - Young Palestinian leader, participated in the MEPEACE Leadership Seminar in 2010. Joined our volunteers.
Inbal Cohen - Young Israeli woman promoting internet possibilities, creative thinking and inclusiveness.


Possibilities - OneVoice's Imagine 2018 and UNRWA's Peace Starts Here

OneVoice -
An international grassroots movement imagining new possibilities for peace through Imagine 2018’s multiplatform campaign that depicts visions of 2018 if a peace agreement is signed.

UNRWA's Peace Starts Here web campaign -
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency project leverages new media for new narratives, encouraging possibilities for conflict resolution.

Education - Arava Institute -
The Arava Institute is a premier environmental studies program preparing future Arab and Jewish leaders for a sustainable future for the region’s human and natural resources. The Institute pioneered : "With Earth and Each Other: A Virtual Rally for a Better Middle East."

Innovation - MJC (Muslim Jewish Conference) -
Innovated their 2010 student gathering in Vienna and plans their 2011 conference in Geneva. MJC is recognized for innovating a new platform for Muslim-Jewish dialgoue and leadership.

Initiative - Solidarity with Sheikh Jarrah -
United people across Israel in solidarity with the principles of justice and freedom, giving people hope that freedom and justice can be achieved through collective action.
