Profile Information

My personal story:
THE STORY HAS BEEN DIFFERENT IN GHANA IN TERMS OF CIVIL WAR AND ABUSE OF DEMOCRACY. THANK GOD WE HAVE HAD A STABLE SYSTEM OF GOVERNANCE. BUT 2012 ELECTION WILL BE A TEST OF TIME IF GHANA CAN MAINTAIN WHAT IT HAS OR WILL DISTORT IT. AS A YOUTH ACTIVIST AND DEMOCRACY PROMOTER. I HAVE AN ORGANISATION AS A CO-FOUNDER TO MY CREDIT (YOUTH PEACE MOVEMENT-GHANA). (http://www.facebook.com/groups/youthpeacemovementghana/?ref=ts)
Why I want peace:
PEACE: one will ask what at all Peace is: several definitions exist but let me add mine: Peace is “a state of mental calmness and serenity with no anxiety”. Peace is and will be from our minds so we will have to work it out from our minds.
Peace is of so many importances:
• Development in Nations, Communities and societies.
• Happiness and joy within living organisms in a habitat.
Looking at all these I believe you and me accepts that Peace is actually more important that we have always seen it. For if there were to be no violence, your guess will be as good as mine how this event will have been possible.
Interests and activities:
EVENTS:
• Peace- walks in the Nation.
• Peace Conferences at selected places across the Country.
• Peace Concerts at selected places across the Country.
• MAIN EVENT: ‘THE FACEBOOK-PEACE TRAIN’.

The United Nations agencies I was involved with was the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).  It was dealing with the livelihoods of people, and how that connects with sustaining wildlife.  The big problem they have in West Africa, is that people depend very much on bush meat.  That is what led to the extinction of the Miss Waldrous Red Colobus Monkey.  When I went through the markets of Accra, I saw a lot of monkeys hunted in the wild, which people took home to cook.  I am encouraged by the conservation work of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, it goes along well with her Nobel Peace Prize.  Which is one of the problems facing West Africa, a lot of these countries had serious problems with insurrection and rebellion.  So peace is not just essential for the people living there, but also for the wildlife too.  It is now trying to get West Africans on alternative sources of protein, as oppose to bush meat.  Meda w' ase.
