Profile Information

My personal story:
I am an Arab Jew and have been a writer and activist most of my life.
Why I want peace:
Peace to me is not merely a word, it is an action, something you do everyday. Without justice there is no peace. I would like to see a paradigm shift among Israelis and Palestinians beginning with the end of the military occupation of the West Bank, including dismantlement of all settlements, and the end of the Gaza siege.
Interests and activities:
Arts and cultures, travel, languages, ideas.
Something you didn't know about me:
I am of Moroccan heritage and have Muslims, Jews and Berbers in my family.
Favorite website:
http://www.levantinecenter.org/
How I found mepeace.org:
Eyal found me through the Levantine Cultural Center in Los Angeles
What I want to achieve here:
greater connectivity and action

On Thursday in Los Angeles about 150 of us were privileged to see the first U.S. screening of a new feature, "Peace After Marriage," a truly hilarious comedy by Ghazi and Bandar Abuliwi, two New York brothers of Palestinian heritage. The film is a certified crack-up. The plot? A 30-year-old sex-addicted Palestinian American who lives at home with his doting mother and father winds up helping an illegal Israeli immigrant by marrying her for papers. While she just wants to be able to stay in the… Continue
