- I was born 1955. Since the end of 1996 I lived mainly in the Middle East. Since 2006 I am in a relationship with Christiane. We believe that the Holy Spirit brings peace and want to be open for the Spirit to work through us.
- Why I want peace:
- I want peace as a testimony for Jesus and for the benefit of people. The conflict between Israel and Palestine is the most difficult conflict in the world. Peace is a blessing for our hearts and lives, for everyone. It is God's will to make peace, that is why I want peace.

I knew Qalqilya as a little spot on the map, which is surrounded by walls. Whenever I spoke in Germany about the situation in Israel/Palestine, this little spot said to me. „Come and see! Visit Qalqilya!“ So, I made up my mind to go there, but how can I go to Qalqilya without knowing anybody there?

I intend to go to Qalqiliya on Tuesday (14.7.). I want to write a report about my visit afterwards, which will be posted also on this blog here. I could stay several days, if I find a suitable place to sleep there. May be someone of the mepeace community has connections to the area? How could a find a proper place? Is this the right way to put my question or is there another possibility, which might be more effective? Looking forward to your answer, greetings and… Continue

in April 2008 my entry to Israel was refused, so I was very happy, to come back. On Sunday morning (7.6.) right after midnight my friend Christiane and I arrived at Ben Gurion airport. At the passport control I had to answer just two questions: „Is this your first visit to Israel?“ and „When did you stay here the last time?“ After responding I got my visa for the next three months. I am a Palestinian Arab from Hizmeh, a village between Jerusalem and Ramallah. When I was 15 years old I fought against the Israeli Occupation in search of freedom. At that time I thought every Jewish person, whether soldier or citizen, man or woman, young or old, should be killed. I rejected the right for any Jew to live and every Jew was a target. I was just a kid, believe me, and I didn’t understand anything about politics or the Arab-Israeli conflict. I was arrested and sat in jail for 12 years. This was during the first intifada from 1987. At that time nobody talked about peace but only of violence. I matured during my time in jail. I started studying and reading books on politics, literature, poetry, and about the Madrid Conference.
It gave me hope to live in peace and dignity. I learned that violence only breeds violence and that peace is the only solution for the two nations, the only way for both to have a respectful and beautiful future. We live on the same land. We are neighbors. We drink the same water and both pray to a monotheistic God. We must live in peace on the basis of religion for God and land for everyone.

Sorry i couldn't find a picture of myself so i uploaded a desert scene which seemed the next best thing. I am not especially attractive anyhow so a desert will suffice, but my heart is not a desert, but loves the Lord as you do. Please dear brother could you help me to find a little booklet whch would compare similar words in Arabic and Hebrew. For example 'akh' (brother) is the same in both languages, isn't it? Similarly 'thiker' (Arabic) and 'zakhar' (Hebrew) both mean remember. I am fascinated by the similarities but have looked in vain for a simple book for a simple person like me and can't find one. Could you posibly help?
