You clearly have some familiarity with recumbents, since you know the right question to ask. I live at the top of a steep hill, so getting home is naturally the hardest part of almost any ride. The fact that I have a recumbent makes the pedaling harder, since I can't use my weight by standing on the pedals. (That's the trade-off for the much greater comfort of the riding position on a recumbent.) But the fact that mine is a tricycle makes up for the harder pedaling. Climbing a steep hill on a bike, one uses a lot of energy just to maintain enough momentum to keep the bike upright. On my trike, there's no question of balance. Having downshifted at the beginning of the climb, I can stop halfway up, seated comfortably, if I want to catch my breath, or just keep pedaling as slowly as I care to and crawling forward at a steady snail's pace.

Thanks for your beautiful and creative response to my comment on your federation proposal! I hope to be able to reply soon.

By the way, my favorite pastime these days is riding my awesome new Sun EZ3 Tadpole recumbent tricycle. It's almost more fun than I can stand! Check out the video here.

In the left column of your mepeace profile page, just below the thumbnail pics of your friends (I think), you should see a box containing a widget (program) called "My Music". It will be very small, since you haven't added any music yet. At the bottom of that box, click where it says "+ Add Music". That takes you to a page where you can add an mp3 file either by entering the URL where it is found on the web, or by uploading it from your computer. You can add up to 200 songs, but I think you have to do it one at a time. There are also a couple of mepeace groups dedicating to sharing music, though they are only lightly used. It's done differently there. Ask me again if you run into any trouble. Enjoy!

A True Story By Faisal Al-kateep
I am a Palestinian Arab from Hizmeh, a village between Jerusalem and Ramallah. When I was 15 years old I fought against the Israeli Occupation in search of freedom. At that time I thought every Jewish person, whether soldier or citizen, man or woman, young or old, should be killed. I rejected the right for any Jew to live and every Jew was a target. I was just a kid, believe me, and I didn’t understand anything about politics or the Arab-Israeli conflict. I was arrested and sat in jail for 12 years. This was during the first intifada from 1987. At that time nobody talked about peace but only of violence. I matured during my time in jail. I started studying and reading books on politics, literature, poetry, and about the Madrid Conference.

It gave me hope to live in peace and dignity. I learned that violence only breeds violence and that peace is the only solution for the two nations, the only way for both to have a respectful and beautiful future. We live on the same land. We are neighbors. We drink the same water and both pray to a monotheistic God. We must live in peace on the basis of religion for God and land for everyone.
