Profile Information

My personal story:
Mid last year, i attended a geti-together organised by a first lady ie(governors wife) in one of the states in the niger delta region. The occasion was meant for the elderly from 60yrs and above. And the time was a period of intense voilence and kidnapping in the area infact all over nigeria my country. The first lady pleaded with everyone present mainly women to start advising their wards to stay away from the ills of terrorisim and embrace peace. She was quick to note that most of the perpetrators of this act are children from the rural communites in the area because their mothers lack the basic education on how to dissuade them from joining the few from the urban areas that will come to deceive them. Infact the speech was soul-Inspiring and before year 2011 end- rampant cases of voilence and kidnapping totally reduced. That inspired my phd thesis to critically examine the role played by women and not just women but the rural women the ones that put their children on their back aand carry their pots on the head) towards peacekeeping.
Why I want peace:
The ultimate of life itself is peace and my religion advised we should follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man will see God. Peace brings joy, improves absolute communication among people, enhances even development and diffuses tension
Interests and activities:
Reading, counselling,research and travelling
Something you didn't know about me:
am good mediator
Favorite website:
http://@unwomen
How I found mepeace.org:
twitter
What I want to achieve here:
It will support my research , enable me to operate a local ngo with concentration in orgarnizing peacekeeping operations within nigeria local communities because conflicts starts from family-community-state-country-continent-international. And when nipped in the bud is escalation will be avoided.

Women are a powerful and yet untapped force for peace our challenge is to act on this understanding that the peacekeeping missions we deploy and the peace negotiations we support must have gender equality at their heart(Ban ki Moon 2012). Am loving this statement for the presence of women peacekeepers help to reduce conflict. It makes an easy way and act as a support tactics to local rural women. Children are more familiar with women and so female peacekeepers are children's favourites. Interactions with fellow women is very easy hence improved communication between peacekeepers and survivors. The list of benefits of women as peacekeepers is inexhaustive. I just want to add this, let us all support and work towards the statement of the UN secretary general is in congruence with common slogan - women for peace and no woman no nation.
