Welcome to Mepeace.
You have joined at an exciting time. For the past three years, Mepeace has served as a platform where those separated by geography and conflict could get together peacefully to meet.
We have developed different activities to engage our members. Every two weeks, we have a dialogue chat dedicated to some topic from the social science realm. Currently, we are discussing the role of diasporas in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, and what these diasporas can do to further peace.
Once a month, we have a Skype phone called dedicated to the theme of compassion. How can be more compassionate? What does it mean to listen or to talk compassionately? What role does silence play in compassion? How can we instrumentalize compassion in the peace-making process? The next call on compassion will take place September 3 at 20.00 Jerusalem time
In coming months, you will see more projects come online, as our transformation plan comes into effect. I wish you a productive and pleasant time on Mepeace, and trust that you will find people with whom to talk and work.
If you have a couple of hours a week to spare, and want to get to know the activities and faces behind mepeace better, come to our meeting for volunteers, held every Sunday at 21.30 Jerusalem time in our chatroom on the mepeace home page. Alternately, you can contact Oliver Haak, our volunteer coordinator. Right now we are looking for people to work on teams in the four work areas of Inform, Inspire, Interact and Sustain.
I invite you to take part and contribute to the growth and success of this organization.
