Profile Information

My personal story:
i am a hebrew wandering woman. after 20 years in beautiful
upper Gailee i moved to the city of my birth.
i am active in a women's interfaith group, interested in
good neighborhood ( Frankfurt is a city , where people of
190 nations live), in diversity and the fullness of life.
Why I want peace:
is that a serious question?

peace is just the condition for the human race to develop.
though i can see quite some discouraging signs, too, i believe,
that peace prevails.
Interests and activities:
writing, preparing for early retirement, visiting the sick and
elderly in the community.
drumming, spending quality time with friends.
music, nature, swimming.
i still plan to do the Kinnereth swimming marathon some day,
the sooner the better.
Something you didn't know about me:
i do have a sense of humor....
Favorite website:
http://www.ohelhachidusch.org
How I found mepeace.org:
by looking for my friend Aura at google
What I want to achieve here:
reconnect to friends in the middle east and maybe
elsewhere

Meditation for Peace

April 16, 2010 from 11am to 1pm – Neve Shalom/Wahat as-Salam

You are all most welcome to attend a Meditation for peace that will be held on April 16 at 11:00AM, in Neve Shalom/Wahat as-Salam.

Mediation as you probably know, leads to relaxation, harmony, inner peace, which results in harmony and peace with our environment and Humanity.

The waves of energy and positive ideas in a state of meditation will have tremendous effects in a peaceful way and reduce aggressiviy in many ways. Can influence our political leaders to be more peaceful and harmonious.

Join us in great number and invite your friends to attend.

The success of this event depend on all of us.

A True Story By Faisal Al-kateep
I am a Palestinian Arab from Hizmeh, a village between Jerusalem and Ramallah. When I was 15 years old I fought against the Israeli Occupation in search of freedom. At that time I thought every Jewish person, whether soldier or citizen, man or woman, young or old, should be killed. I rejected the right for any Jew to live and every Jew was a target. I was just a kid, believe me, and I didn’t understand anything about politics or the Arab-Israeli conflict. I was arrested and sat in jail for 12 years. This was during the first intifada from 1987. At that time nobody talked about peace but only of violence. I matured during my time in jail. I started studying and reading books on politics, literature, poetry, and about the Madrid Conference.

It gave me hope to live in peace and dignity. I learned that violence only breeds violence and that peace is the only solution for the two nations, the only way for both to have a respectful and beautiful future. We live on the same land. We are neighbors. We drink the same water and both pray to a monotheistic God. We must live in peace on the basis of religion for God and land for everyone
