in the name of co - existence

is that the right term, co-existense? i found it in the dictionary 2 days ago. is that the common term to describe the situation of integration between different sectors (is that the proper term?:) that tries to live together?

the 1st time i tried to do something in the name of co - existence was several years ago, when me & my wife joined a group that was formed in our region that tried to get arabs & jews to initiate business enterprises together. my wife did found someone to… Continue

"You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me?"

Remember that Robert De Nero film when he said those words? I think it was Taxi Driver, and believe me; you wouldn’t want to be the one talking to him. You probably have enough troubles without getting a crazed animal on your ass.

Is it just my imagination, or do people in the Middle East get pissed off easily? Do you think that some of them, at least, get up in the morning wondering where the next insult will come from? And once they lose their cool, they don’t forget so easily, do… Continue

Peace Cafe II -- Nohar MISK's summary

mepeace.org is a borderless social network helping and empowering BOTH Palestinians and Israelis find and implement viable ways of living together in peace and harmony.

There is much sanctimonious faction and bluster and posturing, and even real information on this site. In a humble and understated way, this is an example of what http://www.mepeace.org is really about: Peace Cafe II -- Nohar MISK's…

You have to join the Israeli-Palestinian Comedy Tour GROUP to call me names

Hey everyone. Join the Israeli-Palestinian Comedy tour blog and you can post there and I will answer. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

I was in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic the past 10 days and while there it was funny that there was a huge mix of people. Russia. French. Polish. Some Americans. And, Me, the lone Palestinian, and a dozen Israelis and French Jews. I spent most of my time kibbitzing with the Jews and Israelis. We had a blast researching Cuban Cigars -- I didn't… Continue

Hi Everyone!
Currently, for the summer, I have an internship at a not for profit organization in Boston, MA called "Adaptive Environments." We promote universal access and disbaility rights.
Anyways, my boss wants me to search for more disability rights organizations in the Middle East that we can network with. So if you know of any disability rights organizations in the Middle East please let me know.
Thanks

sisters in jihad

سميّة: الانتحارية المحظوظة

Niqash – Kholoud Ramzi (Baghdad) – 21 August 2008:

Sumaya will never forget the day when armed al-Qaeda men forced her to practice wearing an explosive vest under her clothes in preparation for a suicide attack on a local market she was supposed to carry out the following day.

Sumaya’s story began when her husband, Amjad al-Dulaimi, a former officer in the Iraqi army, joined al-Qaeda’s ranks after being recruited by former army colleagues.… Continue

TV show on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict “Good Intentions”

The Israeli tv drama “Good Intentions” (kavanot tovot) is viewable on the internet. This tv show was mentioned by Paul at http://www.mepeace.org/profiles/blog/show?id=661876%3ABlogPost%3A70717

I have a few criticisms of the show including it is a little kitchy and it concentrates much more on the Israeli pain than on the Palestinians but this show is… Continue

The Siege on Gaza: BROKEN Wide Open by HOPE

GAZA (24 August 2008) - Early yesterday evening, against all odds, 42 global citizens on two small boats: the SS Free Gaza and the SS Liberty, broke the siege on Gaza and opened the eyes of the world.

Two years in the planning and sailing over 350 kilometers through choppy seas, despite threats from the Israeli government that they would use force to stop them, the fearless crew sailed the last hours of their journey without communications and navigation systems which had been… Continue

the I raq-US deal

Iraq and the U.S. pushed close to a deal Thursday setting a course for American combat troops to pull out of major Iraqi cities by next June, with a broader withdrawal from the long and costly war by 2011.

Subject to final approval by the top Iraqi leadership, the exit date for U.S. troops would be December 2011, although the Americans insist on linking that target to additional security and political progress.

President Bush has long resisted a timetable for pulling out,… Continue

"Land in the Middle" - a song I wrote in 1978 (intro, lyrics, and chords)

`

I hope to be able to post this song later as a sound-file. Meanwhile, here are the spoken introduction, the lyrics (very slightly updated to reflect passage of time), and the chord progression. I welcome any feedback.

LAND IN THE MIDDLE

(copyright 1978, Hayyim Feldman)

[Intro spoken over fingerpicked Am chord:]

This is a song I wrote for the 30th anniversary of both the founding of the State of Israel and the Palestinian Naqba… Continue

Peace comes from Alakohualgdr

A lot has no existence of health. Pretend that there is the solidarity of peace and join hands and love each other .. and many of us know that peace comes from strength, not weakness door .. Look at the Israeli position ... and to the Palestinian position .. more than 15 years of peace and a state composed ... The world's repeated promises ... But the Israeli position is clear ... The word Israel is the only audio ... More than two and a blockade on Gaza .. and dozens of dead because of this… Continue

The Palestinian Resistance

What does it mean? What are the ways?

Is violence the only way for resistance?

Is when the word of resistance appear that means running in a circle of blood and revenge?

I am a Palestinian and I work hard for my case and I RESIST, yes I resist but not by violating the other side and making it even harder for all of us who are living in the region.

I resist by showing so clearly that I am a human being and a proud Palestinian who can live in peace and… Continue

My final posting

Ever since I have been on here, very few people here have taken me seriously. Recently, the threats made towards me via private messages from fellow 'peace makers' have made me realize that this place is not for me. I joined this website in order to help bridge gaps in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict because I felt that I have a unique perspective on the situation however it is a perspective that is clearly not wanted to be heard by many members of MePeace. I have much more important things to… Continue

Why not bury the poet, his birthplace .......?

Today lose Palestine and the Arab nation absence of a great poet Mahmoud Darwish, and intellectual, an exceptional fighter and the leader of a… Continue

Not that enthusiastic about the so-called peace proposal

It's always so depressing. And it just gets worse. Buidling walls may slow down violence between two peoples but it won't stop it. Peace will.

So Israel has proposed a peace plan to the Palestinians. The Israeli government wants to keep all of the major settlements in the West Bank and the land on the Israeli side of the Wall -- remember when everyone said the Wall wasn't permanent. It can be torn down. Don't worry! It's just an effort to stop violence and bring about… Continue
