The Noosphere of Light and Life Is Here - Part 1

In the thought of Vladimir Vernadsky and Teilhard de Chardin, the noosphere (sometimes spelled noösphere) can be seen as the "sphere of human thought" being derived from the Greek νούς ("nous") meaning "mind" + σφαίρα (sfaira) meaning "sphere", in the style of "atmosphere" and "biosphere." In the original theory of Vernadsky, the noosphere is the third in a succession of phases of development of the Earth, after the geosphere (inanimate matter) and the biosphere (biological life). Just as the… Continue

Introduction

Human rights have become a weapon. A potent force for denunciation and defeat – not in the hands of the abused, but in the hands of the abusers. Those powerful few who know…

I have finally figured out who I am--I am a humanist! :)

This is probably one of the greatest feelings in my whole life-- I have finally figured out who I am and how I relate to this world through my thoughts, actions, and love towards others. I feel empowered.

So I was reading some articles on the BBC about how Paul McCartney is/came to perform in Israel (I am not sure if he is currently there, but if someone could tell me now, that would be great! :) ). Anyways, I read the article about how his comming to perform in Israel was long awaited,… Continue

Norman Mailer - About Iraq and the American Right

I liked Norman Mailer even if i prefer Philip Roth... Norman Mailer knew very well France, and had a strong friendship with a wonderful french writer Jean Malaquais. Jean Malaquais, older than Maile,r was his french translator. He was also the author of the best novel about Nazi Occupation in France "Planète Sans Visa" (Planet without Visa) published in 1947. Please, try to find this book and read it...

Israeli Peace Now Activist injured by a settler + and receives death threat at his door!

I received an e-mail update from Peace Now, a peace group from Israel that promotes justice and rights for Israelies and Palestinians.

Anyways, a religious Israeli settler set a bomb in front of one of the peace now Activists houses, with the words inscribed on it:

"A prize of 1.1 million shekels is offered to anyone who kills a member of Peace Now."

Here is more info on the situation:

Tell Israel's Speaker of the Knesset: Women's rights are everyone's rights!

Hi there, I hope you all are doing well and I wish you all a happy new year!

Here is a new campaign that Meretz USA has just launched. It is on the very important issue of women's rights and the violations to it because of the ultra-orthodox in Israel.

Check out the new campaign and write a letter to the Speaker of the Knesset voicing you protest.

Here is the letter:

Dear Ms. Itzik,

As an American Jew concerned with the welfare of the state… Continue

Choices Of Life Poetry Of Life Tony Robin Bulley New Zealand

The Choice is Ours

Tony Robin Bulley 2005 ©

I sometimes wonder if we really care

Or just pretend and gaze with vacant stare

At all the death and pain in this life

Is it not our concern for others strife

Or do we feel we want to shout and cry

but in the end just walk on by

For their grief may be our day of regret

For what we left behind we cannot forget

Nor if we close our eyes and sit and pray

Without change today will be… Continue

Ahmenidijad Visits the UN

So I was reading the news that Ahmenidijad is going to the UN tommorow to speak.

It's sad that people think that Iran has nuclear weapons, when in reality, they are using it just for peaceful purposes.

However, the one thing that I am upset about is that the fact that the Iranian President will not sit down and speak to either the Israel Ambassador to the UN, or the Israeli President. Even if they don't agree on anything, I think that it is about time that they talk -- face to face,… Continue

Do I Qualify As A Peacemaker?

The most attractive thing about mepeace when I first joined was the diversity of views and the low volume of hate language among members.

I don’t want that to change. But lately I found myself smiling less and raising my eyebrows more as I read through the daily discussions.

Tell me what you think. Should I run for my life, or just ignore them (the mepeace wars)?

My opinions about the Middle East are based in the unseen: In history and in G-d. I call Israel… Continue

Taking a couple of weeks off MEpeace

I've spent over 20 hours these past 10 days reading and answering a couple of posts. That's a lot of hours considering the little time I have to spare. How productive was that? Is it worth it or am I wasting my time?

I started wondering why I was came here to start with. What brought me back day after day. Could it be pleasure? Did I enjoy the blame game that some members drag everyone in? Did I appreciate the endless and repetitive arguments in which anger and sarcasm took over? I… Continue

10 December 2008- 60 years ago The Universal Declaration of Human Rights

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a declaration adopted by the United Nations General Assembly (10 December 1948 at Palais de Chaillot, Paris).

The Declaration arose directly from the experience of the Second World War and represents the first global expression of rights to which all human beings are inherently entitled. It consists of 30 articles which have been elaborated in subsequent international treaties, national constitutions and laws.

Hamas: We still think Israel must die

Hamas Reaffirms 'No Recognition of Israel'

Hamas vowed to continue its war against Israel.

Members of the terrorist group Hamas "reelected" the Islamist organization's most prominent leaders and promoted members of the group's armed wing during a secret ballot last month, Reuters reported. A Hamas spokesman, referring to the secret vote as a demonstration of the "wonderful face of democracy," said the results reaffirmed Hamas' refusal to recognize the legitimacy of the… Continue
