Confronting the extremists is as important a necessity as it is building dialogue and support among Israelis, the Jewish community and the West. It is a FACT that the pro-Hamas bias in the Arab World media and the rejectionist views of many of the activists leading the fight for the rights of Palestinians are doing so not to achieve peace but to 1) reinforce Hamas as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people and to prevent peace based on two-states.
The people of…

This is a video report I made for nana10 (Israeli web portal) in October 2008.
During that time - 2 months before "Operation Cast Lead" (also known as the Gaza War) - Kassam rockets were constantly fired from Gaza to the surrounding cities and towns.

It's one thing to be optimistic. But when you replace optimism with fatalistic hope, it is irresponsible and even selfish.
How else do you describe the bizarre, although articulately expressed,
assertions by Ali Abunimeh, the presumed successor to the late great philosopher Edward Said, that Israel is "failing?" Published on Abunimeh's web site "The Electronic Intifada," where Abunimeh pines for the…

I wrote this article several weeks ago and it has circulated widely around the Internet. I am posting it for two reasons:
(1) After the article appeared, Senator Cardin eliminated references to Hamas in a response to me when I sent him the Amnesty International plea mentioned in the article. I hope this is not a temporary procedure, but remains.
(2) The public is becoming more aware of media manipulations and articles which expose the manipulations are well…

In the Bible, Isaiah, in one of his more memorable prophesies, says that there will come a time when, “…They beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation does not lift a sword against nation, and they no longer learn war.” Quite a profound sentiment, if you ask me, but how realistic is it, given the recent violence in Gaza?
In recent days, in the midst of the ghastly fighting in Gaza, I’ve heard about a proposal to build an industrial zone on Gaza’s…

On the surface, at least, the purpose of a system of justice is to bring justice. In America, however, every defendant has the right to legal counsel. Every once in a while a sharp and crafty lawyer can get the defendant off, even if he was caught with blood on his hands. Such is the power of a persuasive argument. But is justice served when legal arguments and loopholes are used to subvert the truth?
We see unfolding before our eyes a tragedy in Gaza. Innocent civilians are losing…

Dear Peacemakers,
There I was, standing amongst several hundred mostly Palestinians chanting anti-Israel slogans along with "Free Gaza" and "Free Palestine" in front of the Isaeli Consulate in New York City.
As I hugged one of the organizers, a Palestinian friend, I whispered in his ears "this is a missed opportunity."
Yes, a missed opportunity.
The point of the protest was to call for an immediate stop to the violence and killing and for an immediate…
