Scholarships Available for qualified Middle Eastern Students to a semester in Environmental Studies with the Arava Institute. Come explore the issues of environmental challenges with a diverse group of international students in a program that takes a regional, interdisciplinary perspective. The program is conducted in English. The program provides a balanced scientific, political and social understanding of complex environmental issues and the need for cooperation to find solutions. A semester of study is 4 months long – September to January and February to June each year. Students participate in one or two semesters. To apply one must complete application forms, reference letters, an initial interview, and a final interview. Courses include ecology, alternative energy, climate change, water management, environmental economics, environmental law, environmental mediation, environmental policy and environmental politics, sustainable development, organic ariculture, and more. A peacebuilding and Environmental Leadership Seminar complements the academic program throughout the semester.
Excellent students between the ages of 20 and 35 are encouraged to apply. Spring semester 2010 at the Arava Institute is coming soon - therefore applications are due very soon -
