The Nagorno Karabakh conflict does certainly not receive the same media attention as the developments in Ukraine. Still, this “frozen conflict” between Armenia and Azerbaijan constitutes a dangerous situation that could again evolve into a fully-fledged war being the
reason why it is necessary to address the issue in the frame of a conference. The roots of the conflict go back to tensions and riots in the beginning of the 20th century.
The aim of this conference is to bring forth a holistic view of the conflict and thereby to enhance the scientific discourse as well as to
uncover potentially existing literature biases and to counteract them. In a second step we want to find out where a peace transformation process at the given point should begin to truly foster long lasting peace in the region. The identification of important conflict resolution steps will be central during the World Café organized to capture the views and knowledge of the speakers and participants of the conference.
