Program Length: June 2010 to April 2011
Trip Dates: June 26–July 18, 2010
Application Deadline: Rolling Basis
Abraham’s Vision offers the Vision Program Fellowship to 12 Jewish and 12 Palestinian university students with the goal of exploring the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through comparative conflict analysis and individual and group processes work to develop a personal, political, and innovative cross cultural dialogue. Abraham’s Vision strives to create a new brand of leaders who will view the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and other conflicts as a grave, but surmountable challenges.
The 2010-2011 Vision Program group will be made up of half Palestinian and half Jewish fellows who show proven leadership abilities and community involvement. Additionally, participants will be challenged to engage in the critical process of self and communal reflection to better understand participant identities and their integral role in both politics and daily life.
Using our controversial, comparative approach, the Vision Program brings together personal, political, and communal identities of individual participants to develop their critical thinking skills and conflict transformation skills and to examine how critical thinking manifests itself in subjects relating to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Abraham’s Vision strives to transform conflicts between Jewish and Palestinians by depolarizing the conflict and working together to bring peace and justice to both peoples in Israel and in Palestine. Abraham’s Vision is dedicated to promoting understanding between two of US’s most diverse groups; the Jewish and the Muslim communities. Abraham’s Vision allows people of all backgrounds to explore the nature of conflict; our well designed experiential education programs give our students the tools and self-consciousness to see their communities’ conflicts anew and strive towards lasting, workable solutions. We believe that people have the potential to transform their own communities once empowered with the right tools.
