Due to a too small number of participants, we have decided to offer the Chat Workshop previously scheduled for last Sunday (19 June) once again.
You all are invited to join and discuss a highly relevant topic.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We're proud to announce another MEPEACE Chat Workshop, this time on the topic 'New challenges for the nonviolent resistance movement', scheduled to be held this upcoming Sunday, 26 June, at 20.00 Jerusalem time, in our chatroom.
During the last weeks and months, nonviolent protesters from Israel, Palestine and elsewhere have had to face new challenges, mainly demonstrated by an increase of violent responses by the IDF. Protesters in the Palestinian villages of Nabi Saleh, Bil'in, Sheik Jarrah and elsewhere suffered tear gas attacks and similar 'non-peaceful' harassments.
For this reason, it makes sense to talk - with protesters themselves, with those who show solidarity with the nonviolent resistance movement, and - hopefully - with active and former IDF members about possible ways of coping with this increase of violence and - despite these obvious repressions - making the movement(s) succeed.
We will ask the following leading questions:
How and why does Israel repress the nonviolent resistance movement?
What, in your view, are possible ways of coping with the increase of violence, while still clinging to peaceful methods?
How can mepeace.org (and other new and traditional media) assist with promoting and implementing peaceful resistance against the occupation?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please note that the event will start on Sunday, 26 June at 20.00 Jerusalem time, in the MEPEACE Chat.
If you have any questions regarding the event, please don't hesitate to contact us at dialogue@mepeace.org.
We are looking forward to your participation!
