Event Description

Hello, Shalom, Salaam Peacemakers!

MEPEACE.org is working on extended dialogue on site and hence decided to launch a new regular event - Online Peace Talks. Some of you have already attended one or more of our successful Chat Workshops, which take place every other Sunday in the MEPEACE.org Chatroom. The Online Peace Talks will also be held every other Sunday in the Chatroom - it is a very different kind of event, however. Other than the Chat Workshops, the Online Peace Talks don't focus on a specific (academic) topic, but establish an open space to talk mutually about peace, about possibilities, worries, concerns, obstacles, achievements and our mutual future in a hopefully peaceful environment.

Two weeks ago, we hosted the first successful Online Peace Talks - please have a look at the accompanied discussion including the full transcript of this past event:

Dialogue is an important means for conflict resolution, and this is exactly what we aim at. Dialogue will help us find common ground and exchange honestly about what we really feel. The Online Peace Talks should work as an effective equivalent to the established 'on-the-ground' Peace Talks, hosted monthly by Eyal in Jaffa. Using the Internet and the MEPEACE.org platform will allow even broader participation - as our friends in Gaza and the many peacemakers in the diaspora, to name just two examples, can't take part in Jaffa.

The Online Peace Talks are - in short - an integrative, barrier-less event. Thus we now invite you to the second Online Peace Talks on the upcoming Sunday (May 09). The event will be open and without a strict schedule, nevertheless there will be some moderation in order to safeguard ethical behaviour and 'netiquette'. Moderation of the Online Peace Talks will be conducted by mepeace.org Volunteers in a rotational system.

We seek to establish Peace Talks in an active online environment as a new tool, as a new method of conflict resolution/conflict transformation. Besides, we would like you all to take part in discussions around the future of our community - mepeace.org!

Don't miss the chance to be part of it! We're looking forward to your participation on Sunday, 09 May at 20.00 Jerusalem time. If you have any questions or issues beforehand, please send an email to mepeace.dialogue@gmail.com.
