mePEACEplan -- Vision -- What do we want to achieve, how and why

The purpose of this discussion is to arrive at and document an agreed and brief formal vision (mission) statement for mePEACE.org. That brief statement should ideally summarise in less than 30 words what we want to achieve and where, and how and why and by when.

Once we have some concensus on the overall Vision (mission, statement of purpose, objective), we can begin to discuss more practical smaller projects that can help us achieve that Vision (mission).

For an example of its use see: mePEACEplan -- The planning process which is at http://www.mepeace.org/group/mepeaceplan/forum/topic/show?id=661876.... In that example the formal vision was: The COA is a self-help organisation of Jewish people providing older Jewish people their own special place for companionship and support.

The task here is to arrive at similar style formal vision statement for mePEACE.org.

Jafra pointed us to this explanation of developing the vision/mission:
Develop a Statement of Purpose: The first step is to define, with absolute clarity and deep conviction, the purpose of the community. An effective statement of purpose will be a clear, commonly understood statement of that which identifies and binds the community together as worthy of pursuit. When properly done, it can usually be expressed in a single sentence. Participants will say about the purpose, "If we could achieve that, my life would have meaning."

Here is my basic idea:

I see http://www.mepeace.org as a way of trying to help BOTH Palestinians and Israelis find a viable way of living together in peace, as soon as possible.

The above is not written as a formal mission statement and is offered merely to start some discussion.
Here is my revison of the above suggestion using some ideas from Neri and Hiba:
MEpeace.org is a social network helping and empowering BOTH Palestinians and Israelis find and implement viable ways of living together in peace, as soon as possible.

Does the above state briefly and accurately the essence of what we are all trying to do here? Note that this now 25 words. The conceptual essence, if done well, should not be longer than that.

Neri worte: Mepeace.org is social network platform, which was established to enable and promote international borders-less community that focuses on the development of relations and projects between individuals, NGOs governmental entities and other groups that promoting a new reality in the Middle East as territory of peace.

my comment
"borders-less community" is unique expressions in social network areas which is good .. Our vision and massage has to be unique and universal at the same time.

We have to differentiate our groups and its vision from others, even there is lot in commons. The massage has to be precise, rich and "simple" the same time, like all organisational elements.

I will think about a formulation enhance Neri's.
Thanks. I hope that others here will also do the same.

Please look at the samples. Here we are looking at formulating the mepeace equivalents of the top two boxes in the mission detail sample. The wording I proposed above is for the top box; the essence. Many of Neri's ideas are very relevant for the second box That gives more detail about what we do and how.

Am I making sense, Jafra?

Here is an alternative formulation of the proposed essence which emphasises "borderless":

MEpeace.org is a borderless social network helping and empowering BOTH Palestinians and Israelis find and implement viable ways of living together in peace and harmony.

The above is exactly 25 words long.
There is more then the Israelis and Palestinians invested in our conflict. I think the platform serve a wider audience and expect non Palestinians non Israeli to be involved in the action
That is true Neri. And that is exactly what "borderless social network" is attempting to convey. I think it does that.
Would "international social network" be better than "borderless social network"?
Sounds too much like "international socialist network."
"Borderless..." is so much more simpatico...
I agree with Yigal.
our focus is "Peace Building and conflict solving ". So we are not only promoting or facilitating. We are doing it ..
