Peace has always started with an open hand of friendship.

Peace is only a possibility if you let it be so.

It takes courage to call those who would kill us, are our brothers and sisters. It takes courage to say as Gandhi did:-
"I am prepared to die, but there is no cause for which I am prepared to kill."

Both your peoples have suffered terribly from the wrongs of the past. The suffering continues. The weeping stones of Jerusalem cry out with blood of your children.
Peacemakers. This group, The Stones of Jerusalem has bee set up because I wanted to see a representative group of people join together to express through love and poetry their desire for peace and stability. As the group creator I am neither Jew nor Arab, so I will always be looking for guidance and leadership from you who share this great city.

As a city there are many divisions; physical, metaphysical, religious, cultural, wealth, access to services and many more that I am sure you will tell me about.

I want this to be a neutral meeting ground where we leave our hatreds, our pugnacious thoughts and our bitter arguments at the door. Here we meet as equals in every sense of that word. Here we meet as friends across the gaps and divisions.

I am particularly looking for poets from both sides who can best illustrate not only what Jerusalem has been but what it is and what it could become. I will invite poets to come to our group An Absence in Jerusalem on our sister site in ipeace where we are seeking to build an artistic bridge over the divisions. This group can be found on:-

How do we become the peace we seek?
