The women’s movement has already transcended the nations and religions, so in a sense, we are halfway there. “Gender crosstalk” is a new capability of InterMix Voices of Humanity Social Media that will enable women to engage men in a collective dialogue that cuts across national and religious identities. Because it gives women an equal voice with the men, gender crosstalk is a great way for the women’s movement to further its own interest, while at the same time building a global sense of identity for the men — i.e. making it possible for the men also to transcend the national and religious boundaries. In many ways women have been under represented in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.  Only a handful have been slightly noticed.  Bat Shalom is a non-government organization of both Israeli and Palestinian women organized together for peace initiatives.  In the elected government of Israel, Tzipi Livni is no longer head of the Kadima party.  For long time it was rumored that she would be the second woman prime minister, after Golda Meir.  But it seems now, that she is a thing of the past.  Hanan Ashrawi is also a thing of the past in the Palestinian Authority.  So women are not currently in the situation of being runners up.  It is still a non-government organization phenomenon, that still needs to reach the overall population.  But 49% of the Palestinian population are women.  In Israel, it is 50.7%.  So women on both sides have their work cut out for them to be noticed and listened.
