Palestinian farmer Salameh al-Sweity , harvests his olives next to where Israel built their controversial separation barrier in the village of Bait Awa near Hebron in the occupied West Bank on October 10, 2008. Sweity and his family are only able to harvest from part of their olive grove as access to the rest is cut by the concrete barrier that divides his family's land. Israel says the projected 723 kilometres (454 miles) of steel and concrete walls, fences and barbed wire is needed for security, while Palestinians view it as a land grab that undermines their promised state.
