Profile Information

My personal story:
If governments have in mind to fight and plant hatred, let them do that. We can only encourage them not do that and to do the opposite ourselves. Why should they impose their ideology on us? Why do they deprive us of the opportunity to communicate with each other? It is the governments’ choice and the armed groups’ choice to fight and not to resort to peace. I want peace and so do many of the Israelis and Arabs. It is illogical to impose the Palestinian position on me. It is illogical to tell me as an Arab that I have to follow what Hamas or what Fatah is saying, or what the Syrian government is saying.

I’d like to go further and say governments have the freedom to go and sign peace treaties whenever they wish without asking their people’s opinions. I witnessed two peace treaties in my life, one was between Egypt and Israel and the second was between Jordan and Israel. As I recall, none of the governments asked for its own people opinion for peace with the other country. They just did it.

I call them two incomplete peace treaties equivalent to a War Truce or even a Ceasefire, simply because peace did not prevail among peoples. Peoples are still not sure about peace because they view this action of peace as contradictory to their faith and creed while it is not. I blame governments here for not working on educating people and on promoting people to people peace. In my opinion, these governments are keen to keep people far from peace so they may use them as a back-up for their negotiations and other interests when something goes wrong with the other side. It is another game of the governments, so let’s fail them and let’s start people to people peace.
Why I want peace:
Peace is Difficult but War is Catastrophic
Interests and activities:
Yoga, Running, Writing, Traveling, Trekking and Hiking, Defying bad traditions and refusing to live in old frames.
Something you didn't know about me:
I was born Muslim, but I like to be introduced as a human (a citizen of the globe)
Favorite website:
How I found
Web search
What I want to achieve here:
Peace is achievable isn't it?

Why not?

I’m standing on this side talking about peace between two peoples, and I’m pretty sure there is someone on the other side who shares the same ideas. To create peace people need to talk to one another. One day we will force our governments to follow us and give up this nonsense. I'd like to speak publicly and I wish I could be interviewed somewhere so I can argue why peace is achievable.

There is a room somewhere for peace. This room can be found in religion as well as in politics. I’m sure that religious teachings, including Islam, have this room, but Muslim clergymen, in my experience, are not currently looking for it. They prefer the darker side and it might be the side which is supported by politics. This could be applied on Christian and Jewish Clergymen as well.

We are all witnessing what’s going on in the Middle East; increasingly sectarian groups are getting more powerful. I feel like there will be a day when group leaders teach their people how to hate their own neighbors, even those who are living in the same building. The groups are getting smaller and smaller. Nowadays, the narrower and more fanatical you are the more you are accepted in your community. But I believe there is hope; open minded people will understand if they are approached in the right way. We need a forum to talk about these issues. We need a sincere forum with honest participants, not one used by people who have hidden agendas and who would sell us out at any time.

A sincere forum will require the support of courageous, understanding, open minded people from all sides.
