My personal story:
In 1999 I founded a Peace Organization entitled: IFLAC : THE INTERNATIONAL FORUM FOR THE LITERATURE AND CULTURE OF PEACE. We have two main websites in English, as well as two in Hebrew, Spanish and Romanian. You are invited to visit:
Why I want peace:
I was born in Cairo, Egypt, and at the English school I attended in Zamalek, I had a best friend, Kadreya who was a Moslem. We were the editors of the school magazine, entitled THE RAINBOW, and its motto was" TO CREATE BPEACE ON EARTH. It was ironic that instead of creating peace we became so-called "enemies" for thirty years, when the Jews of Egypt were turned away. Since then, I have dedicated my life to promote peace between Jews and Arabs, Israelis and Palestinians, through bridges of Culture, Understanding, Respect, and Communication. I firmly believe that the majority of the people on both sides want peace and that we have to understand and respect each other to promote peace and to abolish wars in our region.
Interests and activities:
Peace writing and peace activities
Something you didn't know about me:
I am a professor of Conflict Resolution and Peace Literature
How I found
Through one of our IFLAC members, Leo Semashko
What I want to achieve here:
An honet and open dialogue about how we , the people on both sides, help to resolve the Palestinian - Israeli Conflict, and influence our leaders to negotiate a SULHA - PEACE, that is acceptable on both sides, and will enable the Palestinian people to build a peaceful and viable Palestine by the side of a peaceful and helpful neighbor - Israel.

Dear Eyal and MEPEACE Committee,

I suggest a 3 Day PEACE Conference, in Haifa or Tel Aviv, that would have Panels of talks and discussions, Roundtables, Lectures, Workshops, etc. with Peace Resolutions at the end, that would be sent to the Israeli and Palestinian Governments, the Israeli and International Media and World Governments worldwide. I am confident that some of them would give us their support and hopefully, their sponsorship. I feel, and so do many others in MePeace, that… Continue

Dear John, Eyal, and commentators,

Warm thanks for your appreciation and your thorough understanding of the deep meaning and impact of my post on THE NAQBA OF THE JEWS FROM ARAB COUNTRIES.. Until now, we have mostly heard about the Naqba - uprooting of the Palestinians, and almost nothing about the uprooting of the Jews from Arab countries. It is a great pity, as this is a new undiscovered avenue for the promotion of peace between Palestinians and Israelis. When my Palestinian… Continue

A True Story By Faisal Al-kateep
I am a Palestinian Arab from Hizmeh, a village between Jerusalem and Ramallah. When I was 15 years old I fought against the Israeli Occupation in search of freedom. At that time I thought every Jewish person, whether soldier or citizen, man or woman, young or old, should be killed. I rejected the right for any Jew to live and every Jew was a target. I was just a kid, believe me, and I didn’t understand anything about politics or the Arab-Israeli conflict. I was arrested and sat in jail for 12 years. This was during the first intifada from 1987. At that time nobody talked about peace but only of violence. I matured during my time in jail. I started studying and reading books on politics, literature, poetry, and about the Madrid Conference.

It gave me hope to live in peace and dignity. I learned that violence only breeds violence and that peace is the only solution for the two nations, the only way for both to have a respectful and beautiful future. We live on the same land. We are neighbors. We drink the same water and both pray to a monotheistic God. We must live in peace on the basis of religion for God and land for everyone.

Yes I am the self same one. I am traveling right now. Today in Topanga Canyon - next week in Penasco Mexico - developing the World Peace Posse - please read about our activity and identify how the Peace Posse might support IFLAC and your Peace work.

My intention is to move beyond where the IAEWP exists - building on its strengths and leaving behind aspects that do not fit within the emerging future. There are many associated with the IAEWP that establish challenges for acceptance of all.

Dr Mercieca has put forth some obstacles to the ongoingness of the IAEWP. I will let you find out for yourself - however you choose to find out. Our recent Malaysian conference (18th WOrld Peace Congress)- brought to light many things to light that are helpful in determining who are our allies and who are not. Our World Peace Posse is intended to be such an organizing process open to all - without bias. Physical, mental, emotional, spiritual built on the intention of facilitating transformation.

Dear Ada
As a friend far across the sea, i was saddened to recieve your email, sad that so many people live in the past , i have no answer to human society today , but im thankful that there are a group of us who seek for peace, i have over time counselled many women on here , one thing i have tried to say to them is this .

Yesterday is gone , its never coming back, nor can we change what happened , tomorrow is not here , maybe it will never come , but today is here , lets try to make sure that during this day we can ensure that tomorrow will not become our yesterdays.

In this i mean Princess that you have been hurt and criticised by another , Ada i feel sad cause i know how we as human beings want to retaliate , this what causes wars , I really believe if we seek all that is of good report , extend love and peace then those opposing cannot survuive for the groundswell of love will overtake them and their tears will wash away the past .

Can i say something , ive been activist in New Zealand for many years , in differnat causes , one of these is seeking justice and self determination for the Maori people of New Zealand who have suffered for years under the occupation of the british, i have time and time again said to them to move on we have to leave the past behind , not forget it , but if they forever keep bringing it up then as a people we can never move forward, so i think myself i ignore the negative of others and move forward , this to would be best for you , there will always be bouldersd blocking our paths in life , briges to cross river to swim, but if we allow our light of love and peace to shine who can drag us into the darkness , well id better stop here for keyboard flows away cause im sad , love you my friend , keep up the good work , ignore those who would antaganise you and put boulders in your path , gird yourself with truth peace and love my wonderful friend love Tony New Zealand

Dear Ada, Thank you for leading me to mePeace on September 16th, just before I lost access to the Internet. Today I have sound, again, and was able to listen to the One Voice: Eye-Opener video. I've also studied your agenda for a three-day Peace Conference, on Peace between Israelis and Palestinians. And I've previously read your report on the forced exodus of Jews from Arab countries. Until all the hurts are aired, it seems each is only aware of his or her own experiences. Drafting a plan of reconciliation seems like a worthy goal. It requires active audience participation, as you know, including small group participation. How I would love to be there! Martha
