Profile Information

My personal story:
I spend most of my time working to bridge the gap between the theory and practice of peacebuilding as President of the International Peace & Security Institute (IPSI). I also work to leverage my experience working with The World Bank, the U.S. State Department, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development, and The Carter Center to bring a dose of reality to the theoretical debates that flourish in our field. I am a fervent supporter of experiential learning, including games and simulations.
Why I want peace:
I passionately believe that our shared future is dependent on the next generation of leaders being fully educated in both the theory and practical skills of conflict prevention, resolution, and reconciliation.
Interests and activities:
Outside of my professional life, you will find me biking DC’s trails, sampling DC’s great international food (especially Ethiopian), and trying to find enough time to take-in all of DC’s rich arts and culture!
Something you didn't know about me:
I am mildly obsessed with the old Granada TV's Sherlock Holmes series
Favorite website:
http://www.ipsinstitute.org
How I found mepeace.org:
through peace & collaborative development network
What I want to achieve here:
Connect with like-minded individuals
Do you promise to respect others and our guidelines and not spam?
Yes
