We need to know each other as real people, not symbols of this or that belief, for peace to happen. On Sunday I attended a lecture given by Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish, who saw 3 of his daughters blown to pieces by an Israeli tank shell on December 16th 2008. His anguish was heard live on Israeli television when he called his friend who was broadcasting at that time. Yet, he says that if his daughters are the last to die the sacrifice will have been worth it.
Why I want peace:
what a question! Survival? Fulfillment? Do we have a choice?
