I am originally from South Africa and grew up in that Apartheid era. I have been living in Israel since January 2000 and have worked for the past 8 years with the Palestinians and Israelis.
Why I want peace:
It is my life mission to help make this world a better place, and it sure beats the alternative. We have been taught to fear each others differences and this keeps us disconnected and in conflict. I want people to connect through what they have in common and create with and from each other.
Interests and activities:
Coaching, workshops, theatre, the arts, dancing, anything that basically involves people and laughter and good food.
Something you didn't know about me:
I love cartoons and musicals
How I found mepeace.org:
Through Abi Shilon
What I want to achieve here:
Not yet sure as I am just signing up, and am hoping to make new freinds, to be part of an inspiring and empowering community and be in service of others.

Thanks for your reply. I have been here since October 1974. 34 years all told. I have had a long innings here. I left SA for political reasons as I was very anti-apartheid and still am. This has influenced my thinking over the years in Israel's relationship with the Palestinians which does bear a few similarities even though the situation is very different of course.
Chag Sameach and it is good to meet you on Mepeace.
Thanks for comming to mepeace.org, I am looking forward to your ideas and direction from your background. Many dialogs are found in varied discussion threads. You will find there are projects started within the site to bring stronger peace goals for the region. It is not an easy task and there are a lot of stumbling blocks. No matter how small an idea the goal is to bring the region forward and with the strength of numbers and collective committee groups formed a lot can be achieved. Sincerely Amera Windsfeather USA
