Profile Information

My personal story:
I was born and raised in the Brooklyn, Williamsburg area in New York where i still curantly reside.
My fathers father of blessed memory emigrated to New York after ww2 from Romania, where he was in a forced labor camp named "munketabur" during the war, he lost his mother as well as 2 siblings in auschwitz. My fathers mother was born in niderhaz, Hungary, and was in auschwitz for many month's, she lost her entire family there but for one sister who was in hiding. My mothers parents are polish they both emigrated to palestine before the war.
I went to a Chasiddic school here in williamsburg , and was blessed to listen and study Torah from many great people and rabbis.
Why I want peace:
I believe much suffering can be avoided if we truely try to respect and understand each other, most importantly its the blessing that Hashem has given to each soul in this world that can be united and elevated thru true peace.
Interests and activities:
My most important activity is to educate our holy brothers as well as the world across the true teachings of the holy Torah. Its sympathy, justice, fairness, and righteousness, it dictates to behave in regards to all of Hashem's creatures, especially the human being with his "Btzelem", the image, "in the image of Go-d he created him male and female he created them." Genesis 1 27.
Something you didn't know about me:
Speak yiddish, english, hebrew, and i read aramaic.

Orthodox Jews for Peace

Shalom, Salam.

Hi everybody, I am a co founder of a new organization named Orthodox Jews for Peace.

Our mission is to educate, and express, everything that is taught in the Torah on Peace.

We believe the notion that the Jewish and Palestinian peoples are inherently incapable of coexistence is a mistake.

This mistaken idea has been promoted at times inadvertently and sometimes purposefully by politically motivated individuals on both sides.

Our experiences coupled… Continue

Sholem aleichem Levi,

I discovered your organization just last week on Facebook. Kol Ha-kavod! It is my heart's aspiration to be shomer mitzvot, though I have a dauntingly long way to go. As a lifelong progressive (raised in the penumbra of the secular Jewish left), I find the political and social views within most of the Orthodox community painfully alienating, especially when it comes to Israel/Palestine.

Do you know Eliahu McLean? I am a friend of his and a great admirer, from a distance, of his partner in peacemaking Rabbi Froman. (I had hoped to meet R. Froman when I was learning at Bat Ayin yeshiva in Gush Etzion some years ago, but was unable to do so.)

I also participate somewhat in the work of the Network of Spiritual Progressives, affiliated with Tikkun Magazine (founded and edited by Rabbi Michael Lerner). Are you familiar with Tikkun? I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts about it.

Maybe you can answer some of my questions about OJfP: What is its structure? Is it a closed group, or a membership organization? How can I join, and what would it mean to join? Would you or other OJfP leaders be available for one or more public events, dialog meetings, etc., in the Boston area if I were to organize them? What kinds of events would be of greatest interest to you? How broad is the current membership and leadership of OJfP; in other words, which streams of Orthodox Judaism do they come from? Are there women involved?

I hope you don't mind my barrage of questions. Feel free to answer by private message, if you prefer. I'd be happy to exchange email addresses.

It is such a mechayah to me to know that there are folks like you, and a group like OJfP, in the world. Welcome to mepeace!

Shalom, Salam.
When in 1967 that war erupted between Israel and Arabic States my farther said: They are still, like for centuries, fighting for the holy land. But imagine Manius, imagine the globe, imagine the earth from afar. Drain the whole water from its surface, all you going to be left with is a dry, solid ROCK!, dry solid land!. Wherever you put your finger on, on any place of this one solid land, it is going to land on the holy land. Isn't? The holy land is everywhere.

The whole world have to learn, comprehend and accept it, especially people living in that particular area; people who live in Jerusalem, in the city of Peace.
Not only in Jerusalem, Mecca or any other 'holy' shrine or place on Earth.
Wake up people, wake up to the Truth. To the true image of the Holy Land. Stop living this distorted image our father's fathers lived for so long. Wake up and accept the Truth and Reality.
