I have strong feelings about the unjust situation of the
Palestinian people. I want to contribute to peace.
I am working on an independent project to interview
Palestinians and Israelis in order to obtain their personal
oral statements about the conflict.
In the same way as the conflict is dramatic and commands
the attention of the participants and others, the personal
oral statements also tend to be strong and compelling.
The passion of the oral statements can, I believe, cause the
participants (and others) to acknowledge the humanity of
the other side, and so move persons on both sides towards peace.
I am looking to create a presentation of the oral statements,
first in audio, and then as a video documentary. The audio
version will be presented anonymously, initially on web with
original text and translation.
I would appreciate contact with any Palestinians or Israelis that
would want to provide a personal oral statement. This can be
done by telephone, or personally in NYC.
I think Arab language interviews would be very strong so I hope
to find Arabic speakers who want to conduct interviews in Arabic,
possibly with people they know.
I also want to collaborate with persons who want to translate personoal statements between Arabic, English or Hebrew.
