"I believe that helping Peace appear in the Middle East is an Everest of accomplishment and I am happy to put my shoulder to that task. I am only one person and know that sometimes one person can make a difference; maybe a tiny difference, but…"
Swiss born, grew up in Israel, lived most of my life in Switzerland.
Why I want peace:
Violence and oppression generate suffering. Reducing suffering of any kind is most probably generally desirable, at least I regard it as highly worth striving for.
Besides having my own "roots" in the middle east, I also think the middle east conflict has become symbolic for all difficult and bloody conflicts worldwide. This makes engaging in trying to "solve" it, seem especially worthwhile.
Interests and activities:
Course instructor for non-violent conflict resolution. Diverse background and interests in social sciences and arts.
We'll see about that. Maybe to find people for projects outside the Internet. Because as much as I appreciate online communication and networking possibilities, conflict resolution and connection require a meeting on a personal, face-to-face level, that include non-verbal communication, humour and emotions.

I believe that helping Peace appear in the Middle East is an Everest of accomplishment and I am happy to put my shoulder to that task. I am only one person and know that sometimes one person can make a difference; maybe a tiny difference, but a difference just at that. Thank you, Robert S, that you are another person interested in peace in the Middle East and also in Palestine - Israel.
I have followed Nelson Mandela's career in South Africa and feel that reconciliation there, while difficult, is a smaller accomplishment than what is needed in Israel-Palestine. I feel humble next to this need because, Robert S, our world needs more peacemakers in every "theater" of conflict. The world needs giants by the thousands if not the millions to heal the many problems of our world.
I therefore affirm that I am willing to be a "giant"; I am willing to be the "peace that I want to have". I am willing to forgive (and to forgive myself) at every level of my life so I may be the peace I want to happen.
