I was born in Israel bot moved to Sweden when I was five. During my whole adulthood I have wanted to move back to israel, although other paths lead me here and there. Right now I intend to move to Israel in a near future. I have a strong wish to do something constructive in Israel, which for me means to work with the conflict on a grassroot-level. When I studied Drama a few years ago it was with the intention to use it in Israel, in specific with Jewish and Arabic youths. Drama and Theatre are for me potential and creative tools to be used in this work.
Why I want peace:
I want peace because I believe that everyone gains and grows with peace. For me peace requires an aknowledgement and acceptance of ones own fears and prejudices - a lifelong process that leads to more happiness.
Interests and activities:
I love anything that makes me feel more alive - adventures, travels, theatre, music, interesting meetings. Nature has an enormous value for me, in all its variations: to spend time in nature, walk, run, sleep in a tent, make a fire. I also love to spend quiet time.
Something you didn't know about me:
I love surprises.
How I found mepeace.org:
I found mepeace.org by a chance on the internet.
What I want to achieve here:
I want to learn more, about different people's views and deepen my understanding of the conflict. To share and meet in meaningful ways. I am planning to do a theatre-project in Israel and hopefully I can find other people wih a similar wish that want to collaborate in this project.

A True Story By Faisal Al-kateep
I am a Palestinian Arab from Hizmeh, a village between Jerusalem and Ramallah. When I was 15 years old I fought against the Israeli Occupation in search of freedom. At that time I thought every Jewish person, whether soldier or citizen, man or woman, young or old, should be killed. I rejected the right for any Jew to live and every Jew was a target. I was just a kid, believe me, and I didn’t understand anything about politics or the Arab-Israeli conflict. I was arrested and sat in jail for 12 years. This was during the first intifada from 1987. At that time nobody talked about peace but only of violence. I matured during my time in jail. I started studying and reading books on politics, literature, poetry, and about the Madrid Conference.
It gave me hope to live in peace and dignity. I learned that violence only breeds violence and that peace is the only solution for the two nations, the only way for both to have a respectful and beautiful future. We live on the same land. We are neighbors. We drink the same water and both pray to a monotheistic God. We must live in peace on the basis of religion for God and land for everyone.
We want new thinking, we want to live the life we want, we want to announce the bombing of the peace to prevail in all corners of the earth, we want to be every day we live the day of Eid, we want to free all Ktaiien nobles, we want to change the gain of our loss and I think all of us will start losing it again and win
how nice to see you being HERE! Sorry, i did not answer to your last comment for a long time. My computer collapsed and i needed a new hard disk. Now, it works very fine in comparison to before.
Concerning the Theater of the Supressed in Brazil, i am not sure, if this still exists as an organisation. Already in 2002 Augusto Boal was quite old. Some weeks ago i found a photo taken from the sign at the door of their place in Rio de Janeiro with some more information (a telephone number, as i remember), but now this photo has disappeared under the big mountains on my writing desk. (I have put it there to send you that info). As soon as i find it back, you will get that.
I also had a look into my dissertation and saw, that the name of this woman (Themecentered Interaction) is Ruth Cohn (not Cohen). Nowing that it will be easier to find something about her valuable work.
I hope everything is well with you and yours! Do you already know a date for your moving to Israel?
Sunny greetings from Cologne! s.

Concerning your last name: Does Ruth Cohen belong to your family? I know some of her work from my time at university. In german it was called: TZI - Themenzentrierte Interaktion (translated by me: 'Themecentered Interaction').
When i read your profile information, i thought of Augusto Boal and his TEATRO DO OPRiMIDO (Theatre of the Suppressed). In 2000, i met him in Rio de Janeiro in the CTO-RIO for learning something about his methods of working with suppressed people. Concerning the situation of the Palestinians, that could be very interesting for you. s.
