Confronting the extremists is as important a necessity as it is building dialogue and support among Israelis, the Jewish community and the West. It is a FACT that the pro-Hamas bias in the Arab World media and the rejectionist views of many of the activists leading the fight for the rights of Palestinians are doing so not to achieve peace but to 1) reinforce Hamas as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people and to prevent peace based on two-states.
Israel has approved plans for construction of a barrier along the border with Egypt, a move that clearly indicates that it wants to remain a religious apartheid regime.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that the decision was taken to secure Israel's “Jewish character”, BBC reported on Monday.
The new barrier will be built along two parts of the border —near the Red Sea city of Eilat and on the edge of the Gaza Strip.
The project is set to cost $270 million… Continue

I think the last flick I've seen more than three times in theaters was Star Wars in 1977 when I was a sprite 11 years old. Yesterday, I saw James Cameron's "Avatar" for the third time eagerly sharing each viewing with family and friends. Avatar's latest box office has it ranked as the second highest grossing film of all time behind Titanic, another film directed by Cameron.
The 3D and CGI technological leaps Avatar entertains scatters a little pixie dust over one's… Continue

One journalist daily life, trying to cover what's happening in Gaza, from Israel.
This story was prepared for vjmovement about one journalist struggling to report despite the blockage: http://www.vjmovement.com/truth/29
One year ago, during operating "Cast Lead", Israel prevented media from accessing Gaza and covering the events.
This is a video story I prepared for vjmovement about the blockage: http://www.vjmovement.com/truth/146
This is a video report I made for nana10 (Israeli web portal) in October 2008.
During that time - 2 months before "Operation Cast Lead" (also known as the Gaza War) - Kassam rockets were constantly fired from Gaza to the surrounding cities and towns. http://www.yermibrenner.com/?p=98

I have not seen comments where this was posted on the Stuart Littlewood's (another comrad) website. I wonder the thought of peacemakers? Is there any opinion here with Gilad? He wants peace for everyone surely. The question is, what to do about the leaders who will not allow it? After someone's house has burned down, do they turn around and rebuild with the arsonist still in the neighborhood? What to do about the… Continue

The white man does not understand America. He is far removed from its formative processes. The roots of the tree of his life have not yet grasped the rock and the soil.
The white man is still troubled by primitive fears; he still has in his consciousness the perils of this frontier continent, some of it not yet having yielded to his questing footsteps and inquiring eyes.
He shudders still with the memory of the loss of his forefathers upon its scorching deserts and… Continue

Splendid article (if you can read German, that is...). How the French and the British caused ME conflicts (from Jerusalem to Kurdistan to Pakistan to Afghanistan). WW I played against Germany played out via Germany's ally Turkey; the lust for oil; and the route to India. WW 1 led to Versailles, Nazism, WW 2 & mass emigration… Continue
