last time i wrote about the organized trip to hebron. later i received an email that informed me that the army stopped it & didn't let the peace people enter into the palestinian authority in the city. actually - that suits very well with what i know - israelis are not allowed in places that are in palestinian auhtority. what i'm surprised a bit of is that a peace organization, with a lot of experience, decided to issue this trip anyway.

this leads me back to a wonder - is it worth to… Continue

The Times they are always a'changin'

The Times They Are a'Changin'- FREE Vanunu Mordechai! Now! Began on Face book on November 15, 2008 by an Italian with a vision for a Global V Day with his message to VMJC: Vanunu Mordechai John Crossman:

"For the little I can, [I will] try to move the conscience of the largest number of people possible, to try and break the chain of hatred that choke you and all the people of the area. Keep struggling. One day soon you will come to Rome to wipe away the ghosts of… Continue

Education the fit all tool?

I am seeing a common trend here in the blogs. I see the word 'education' everywhere. I find it interesting that for such a group stuck on 'education' we still call a murderer a 'suicide bomber'! I think that maybe we have it all wrong, you know our words. Maybe we use our words too freely here? As far as the middle east is concerned, I believe we need the human spirit to prevail, that measure of goodness that we all have inside of ourselves. Education is a good thing but, it's not a 'fits all'… Continue

Merry Christmas Reflection

Dear Friends,

Let me wish you a thoughtful and reflective Christmas even as we continue to witness numerous challenges in our world today.

Christmas season is here and once again there are many distractions in our world that we hardly take notice of the significance of the birth of Christ. Looking at how much so many women still give birth under very poor conditions, the image of Mary with her child in a stable resonates in solidarity with the poor that hardly see their… Continue

Shministim: Among the Leader's in the Way to a New Israel

Shministim means “twelfth-graders” in Hebrew and military service is mandatory upon graduation from Israeli high school.

The Shministim are Israeli youth of conscience who refuse to serve in the Israeli Army because it is the force that enforces Israel’s 40+-year occupation of indigenous Palestinians.

The first Shministim letter was sent to Prime Minister Golda Meir. In 2008 alone, one hundred youth have signed the following letter, which cost them a jail term in an… Continue

Our Colonialism Only Leads to Violence

Disappearing Palestine --by Michael Rosen

A family arrived and said that they had papers

to prove that his house was theirs,

-No, no, said the man, my people have always lived here.

My father, grandfather ...and look in the garden,

my great grandfather planted that.

-No, no, said the family, look at the documents.

There was a stack of them.

-Where do I start? said the man.

-No need to read the beginning they said,

Turn to the… Continue
