The 3rd International Conference on Dharma-Dhamma on 24-26 October, 2015 at Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India was organized by the India Foundation’s Centre for Study of Religion and Society, State’s Culture Department and the Sanchi University of Buddhist-Indic Studies, Indore.
The Conference aims to focus on the harmony of all religions and the usefulness of religion for individual, social and cosmic well being. Its central premise is to bring about solidarity, peace, prosperity and welfare in the world through the agency of religion. This Conference seeks to explore shared values among different religions of the world..
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan presided over the function, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan chief guest and Bhutan foreign minister Lyonpo Damcho Dorji inaugurated the 3rd International Dharma-Dhamma Conference by lightening the Inauguration Lamp on Saturday.24th Oct. 2015.
Along with 100 spiritual leaders, more than 1,000 delegates & scholars from the different parts if the world - United States, Japan, China, South Korea, India , Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Thailand, Taiwan, Myanmar, Nepal, Singapore etc. participated in the conference.
Topics pertaining to global peace, environment and nature, human dignity, pluralism, moral and spiritual values were discussed in more than eight parallel sessions.
More than 150 research papers were presented on different topics such as Role of Mankind in Religious Harmony, Role of Religion for global peace & ecological balance , Religion to Safeguard Human Dignity, Relevance of Moral Values in Personality Development, Science of Religion: Key to Global Peace, Role of Vipassana in Communal Harmony, Concept of Yoga in Different Religions, Dharma Leads to Development, Environment, Ecology, Emotion and Buddhonomics: The Middle Path of Salvation, Achieving Universal Brotherhood through Social Service Humanistic Lesson from Sikh Religion, Ecological Consciousness in Religion: Buddhist Perspectives, Moral Values of College Girls of Hindus, Muslims and Christians, Buddhist Art Sculpture Promoting Gender Equality, Vedic Roots of Hinduism and Hellenism and Swami Vivekananda’s Views on Religion: A Way Out to Revitalize the Lost Humanity and Establish World Harmony Acknowledging Religious Diversity..
