If not acting and moving these days then when?

I have been in Akko (the name I prefer and not acre) the last few days after the clashes began, in order to try helping in any field and ways possible to prevent more damage and deterioration in the Arab-jewish relationship. Also I called every one I know from akko to ask about the real situation which not always described accurately by the media.

And in order to offer any help. I was asked by many organizations to distribute their call for action to all my colleagues and e-mail addresses of active people from the civic society and other and to connect between many active people

All I have mentioned was the minimum needed move to be done in such situation and this is our rule s peace seekers and peace making……

I expected mepeace members to organize any action or move and not just writing here in the website . remember our exam is in tensed situation and not in normal days ….
Any actions organized by mepeace could expose mepeace to the wide public ..we miss this

I would like to hear what, all members of mepeace who pretend to be peacemaker have or would like to do …otherwise what really we represent?

I am in America, I will send letters to who you would like. I will make the calls. Any news reporting I shall send to the ceo's of any major paper.

Let me know what you would like me to do. The Arab ministers in America are holding an open house. Send me the word and I will make it heard. Neri if you need me let me know. I will form the committees on this side and group the existing groups in america for more function.

Bring the idea and we will help it form.

pretend is a strong word, but we still in the business of change and as such we all seek the right thing to do.

I think this can be grate initiative for us, I can host a meeting in Tel-Aviv for people who would like to think what we can do. This is a very important issue within Israel and a voice of the wisdom is not heard.

So I you or others can take responsibility to invite the right people we can get out from that meeting with a clear plan of action.

Most people I know look at the violence as being senseless and destructive. However, this is mixed with a strong fear that the far-right is right (Arabs can't be trusted)- I am sure that the same dynamics go on with Palestinian Israelis who have their own rage and fears (you can't live with the Jews/Jews will never accept them as equal- I am sort of guessing at the Palestinian fear reaction) but these are our fears coming to the surface when under stress and I truly believe that the majority on both sides want to live normal lives in peace and co-existence.

So I agree that we should all be putting these feelings into actions. I think the majority don't know what to do and are just too busy (if they don't live in the area so it doesn't directly affect them) so they do nothing. The problem is that the silence is very dangerous because it makes the other side feel their fears are justified.

So the first step is giving people something to do that is productive and speaks to them.
The next step is explaining why it is in our interest to be involved.

Amal, since you already have a group you know from this forum- can you organize something for people to do- even just going to the healing tomorrow (Thursday)? I would join but Ottawa is a little far to travel. :-)

It's a very good question.

Yet, you getting up and doing something generates momentum, each in our own location, each within our abilities to calm down anger, encourage negotiation.
