while organizing the childrens' toys in the basement. It was strange how painful even such a small injury could be. I thought to myself, how terrible the suffering must be for someone who is severely injured! After I washed my finger, pulled out the sliver of glass and wrapped the cut tightly in a bandage, I felt better. Then I saw a drop of blood sitting on top of the faucet. It was so red, that single drop. As I washed it away I felt a surge of anger at the pointless suffering of the people of Palestine and of Israel, the many many drops of blood, drops that have turned into a river of blood. Innocent children shot while sitting in class, killed in their homes, blown up in buses and in malls. We as adults have failed our children. We have failed to protect them. Shame on us. It is time to fix this. It is time to sit down at the table and figure out how we can live in peace and respect each other. It is time to demand of our leaders that they do Everything Necessary and Now. We must all stand up and demand Peace. It is our right to live in Peace.
