Hi Mazin -

I came across mepeace.org by chance today. When I saw your name and many posts, I decided to spend some time with it. I posted a blog about my most recent work in Germany to see how it would be received.

I continue to received messages through your email lists. I admire you greatly from returning home in the efforts of supporting a just settlement to the conflict. I wish you the best success in what you are trying to achieve.

@Mary Rizzo - As Mazin said on mepeace, the only good thing there is that some people can meet and get to know each other. I met Mazin and many others through mepeace. Btw. a few month ago Eyal invited me again (God knows WHY) and although I really tried not to reply "too aggressively", he soon found an amazingly ridiculous excuse to ban me again :) — and also by the way - I don't remember where on this tread I read it, but I met Mazin yesterday at Bir Zeit and he told me that he's considering leaving mepeace, as it doesn't lead anywhere and it's too much of a waste of time. I don't know if he'll do it, we agreed that we succeeded do achieve a few little things - but all in all writing there is really a waste of time, as they don't accept even the smallest bit of truth.

Hi Mazin...

I have a distaste for flaunting labels (usually for some sort of mind manipulation) and identifying Israel such as colonialist, based on Apartheid etc.

But today in Jerusalem..a bright lovely day..in a neighborhood where Arabs and Jews walk side by side (not only Arab construction workers) I all of a sudden saw the typical images of a house being renovated ...and i felt i could begin to understand how a local Palestinian might see the growth of Jewish presence as colonialism.

It does not mean that i think there is a basis for such a judgement..but it is clear how this feeling could be deeply and sincerely felt.

Ahlan Mazin, how are you?
News from my part of the U.S.: since our college's divestment from the Occupation, many, many Zionist groups are afraid and angry, because BDS campaigns are becoming more mainstream all over the world. I am very excited! We're not giving up hope, ever...

self-perceived need for "security" (security from the people who were robbed).

Mazin,

if this is your metaphors, no peace in your words.

note that I do not say no harm done, I know that huge harm don but the Zionist movement but my son had nothing to any one, and I counted 10 memory polls in radius of 1 Km of my house.

These polls say that palestinian suicidal bomber explode him self.

I do not see any reason to security my son life for you idealism of eye to eye punishment.
we need to think from future and not from history.

Hi Mazin. I was wondering if Mrs. Qumsiyeh ever comes on line. Maybe she does incognito? I'd be interested in hearing her views. We need more women in mepeace, particularly Palestinians, IMHO.

We've forgotten the good traditions and got attached to so mistaken violent customs, habits and confused them with good ones...our morality is so distorted...we need to loose the fears...and re-connect with our real nature!!!

Hi Mazin,
Thank you for bringing up interesting debates, which are certainly a good way for us to get to know each other better. I would be interested in having your thoughts on whether or not the path chosen by Palestinias for the resistance is a good one. Personally I tend to think that a Ghandi type resistance would have been more powerful, as it would have allowed Israelis to join in and support it without fear of doing harm to their own cause.
I did look into all the discussions. perhaps someone already started such a discussion?

Hello Mazin - I pray for Peace for you and your family
i feel impotent to speak of how to stand in the face of cruelty and violence. i can only see how little i've done to ease hatred in my community - how should i speak to the fears people who would do violence in their anxiety of perceived threats or the violence of retaliation & rage?

it is something to write to our representatives - but this feels useless & building bridges with individuals is slow...

Love to you and all your family

Hello Mazin,
I wonder about 'Justice' -
i have a bumper sticker on my car that says "if you want Peace work for Justice" & whenever i see it i find myself thinking 'yeah, & if you want Justice get over yourself'...
i don't mean to be disparaging - it's just that it's become problematic for me in the last few years - this idea of 'Justice'

i'm thinking more about Love these days - that by taking a fierce stance to a compassionate witness to all that is & accepting all of who i am (good, bad & ugly) is the root of this healing Love that is needed for Peace to exist.
